For parents of kids in grades 1–12

Turn tonight's homework into a 5-question quiz

Your child answers on any phone — no app, no account. You see what they understood, the exact slip they made, and one way to help tonight.

An example: your child's screen and the report you get back

Your child's phone3 of 5

What is 2/8 + 3/8?

  • 5/16
  • 5/8
  • 6/8
  • 1/8

Hint: The bottom number is the size of the pieces. Does adding change their size?

Your report

Adding fractions

Needed a hint

Picked “5/16” first — that's what you get when you add the tops and add the bottoms.

Tonight: Shade 2 eighths of a bar, then 3 more. Still eighths: 5/8.

Answer it as your child

Three questions, one per screen, the way your child sees them. Tap a wrong answer on purpose — then see what your report says about it.

Your child's screen

30 is what percent of 120?

Tip: pick a wrong answer on purpose.

Your child's quiz is made from their own homework, in the language it's written in.

How it works

  1. Type a topic or snap the homework

Grade and topic are enough, like “adding fractions”. A photo is read once and never stored.

  2. Send your child a link

They answer 5 questions on any phone. No app, no account, no timer, no score.

  3. See what they understood

Which topics landed, which answer they picked when they slipped, and one way to help tonight.

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can write a quiz. Umilo shows you how your child actually answered it — and what to do about it.

Built for kids, not for screen time

Your child opens a link and answers. Nothing to download, nothing to sign up for, nothing that pulls them back in.

  • No scores

No percentage, and no pass or fail at the end.

  • No timers

Nothing counts down while they think.

  • No ads

The page holds the quiz and nothing else.

  • No account

No app, no password, no email for your child.

A note from the founder

Vasyl

Founder of Umilo

I built Umilo because “Did you get it?” almost always gets “Yeah” — and a finished worksheet can't tell you more than that. Five fresh questions on the same topic, answered on their own, can.

If anything is confusing or wrong, write to me at [email protected]. I read every email.

Questions parents ask

What does my child actually see?

A link that opens in any phone browser: one question per screen, answers to tap, a hint and one more try after a wrong first answer on multiple-choice questions, and a short explanation after each question. No score, no timer, no ads and no account.

Do I need a photo of the homework?

No. Choose the grade and type the topic, like “adding fractions”. If you'd rather snap the page, the photo is read once and never stored.

Does it just give my child the answers?

No. It asks new questions on the same topic. On multiple-choice questions a wrong first tap brings a hint and one more try; the answer and a short explanation come after that, or when your child taps “Not sure” and then “Show me”.

Which grades, subjects and languages does it cover?

Grades 1 to 12, and any topic you can name or photograph: math, reading, grammar, science and more. Questions come in the language of the homework — English or Ukrainian: a photo sets it from the page, and for a typed topic you choose. Your report is in the language you read Umilo in.

How much does it cost?

Free to start, with no card: one child, 4 quizzes a month and the full report. Family is $9.99 a month for up to 4 children and 100 quizzes a month. Cancel any time.

What happens to my child's answers?

They are used to build your report. The child page has no ads and no tracking cookies, a link stops working after 30 days, and you can switch it off sooner. The details are in the privacy policy.
