Terms of service

The agreement

Umilo is operated by Vasyl Vynnytskyi (ФОП Винницький Василь Михайлович), a sole trader registered in Ukraine. By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Umilo.

Who may use Umilo

Umilo is built for a parent to use on behalf of their own children.

• The account holder must be an adult parent or guardian.
• One account is for one family. Do not share your sign-in details.
• A child uses Umilo only through a link you send. A child never gets an account.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account.

What Umilo promises, and what it does not

Umilo is a study aid for a parent. It is not a grade and not a verdict.

• Umilo generates practice questions from a homework photo or from a topic you type.
• The questions and the readout are produced by an AI model, and they can be wrong.
• Umilo is not an assessment, a diagnosis, or a substitute for a teacher.
• Read the questions before you send a check to your child.

Your content

The homework stays yours.

• You keep any rights you hold in the homework you photograph.
• You give Umilo permission to process that photo once, in order to produce a check.
• Only photograph homework you are allowed to photograph.
• Do not upload anything unlawful, and do not upload a photo of a person other than your own child.
• Umilo, its name, design and the question sets it generates remain Umilo's; you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own children.

Plans and payment

There are two plans, and no hidden tiers.

• Free: 1 child, 5 checks in total, and 10 photo analyses in total.
• Family: $9.99 per month, up to 4 children, 100 checks per billing period, 20 photo analyses per rolling 24 hours, and readout history. Prices are in US dollars. Depending on your country, Paddle shows the final amount, including any VAT or sales tax, and may show the equivalent in your local currency, at checkout.
• Payments are handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle issues the invoice, handles sales taxes, and is your counterparty for the purchase itself, so a purchase is also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms). For billing questions you can reach Paddle at paddle.net; for everything else, write to [email protected].
• A Family subscription renews every month until you cancel it. Cancel any time from the billing page; access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Refunds are covered by the refund policy: 30 days from a payment, no questions asked.

Fair use

The limits above exist so one account cannot spoil the service for other families.

• Do not automate, scrape, or resell the service.
• Do not try to defeat the rate limits or the expiry on a share link.
• Do not use Umilo to generate content for anyone other than the children on your account.

Availability

Umilo is a young product from a very small team. It may be unavailable, slow, or changed without notice, and features may be added or removed.

Ending the agreement

Either side can end it.

• You can delete your account at any time.
• Umilo may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other families at risk.
• Closing an account deletes the child profiles on it and their checks.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Umilo is provided as it is, without warranties. Umilo is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for a decision taken on the basis of an AI-generated question or readout. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, and disputes are heard by the courts of Ukraine. This does not remove the mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in, and nothing in these terms removes a consumer's right to bring a claim in the courts of their own country.

Changes to these terms

The account holder is told by email before a material change takes effect. Using Umilo after that date means accepting the new terms.
